You may be thinking: "I want to buy a video game console that feels brand new, but isn't so expensive! Is the WII U right for me?"
I have heard a boat load of great comments about the WII U, and I've heard Sony & Microsoft "fanboys" throw dirt at the WII U. Some people on the internet say the WII U has a bunch of great games, and other anti-Nintendo people say that Nintendo is lacking 8th-generation graphics, which may be true. But I own a WII U, so instead of listening to these gamers have discussions about the WII U, I figured I should give you an honest review of Nintendo's newest console, the WII U.
If you've been sitting on your couch, using your internet browser, watching videos and you've found yourself saying, "Watching things in 720p is horrible! I just can't stand that I can't watch my video in 1080p," the WII U is NOT FOR U! The WII U is the first Nintendo console to run games at 1080p, which is exciting, it is, but the graphics on the WII U's competitors are much more impressive. So if you are obsessed with stunning graphics and realistic-looking games, the WII U may not be the best gaming platform for you.
Now, if you want to play violent, M-rated games on your home console, the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will satisfy you more easily. The WII U doesn't have too many third-party shooting games. And many shooting-based games for the WII U have already been out for other consoles.
Okay, so the WII U will fit perfectly for people who want to be able to play multiplayer family-oriented games. Many games that are exclusive for the WII U are perfect for family game nights and parties. With family-friendly games like New Super Mario Bros U, Mario Kart 8, Super Mario 3D World, and Nintendo Land, the WII U is sure to bring games that will suit everyone in the family. And with the variety of controllers for the WII U such as the Wii Remote, Wii Remote and Nunchuck, The Wii Wheel, The WII U Gamepad, The Wii Classic Controller, Wii Classic Controller Pro, Wii U Pro Controller, and the GameCube controller (when the adapter comes out later in 2014), everyone should be able to find a controller that suits them. And with the backwards compatibility of the WII U, people who want to play their favorite Wii games on their WII U can just put in a WII disk into their WII U and play. So those of you who want to play Mario Kart Wii, Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing, or New Super Mario Bros Wii on their brand new console can! And if your an adult who wants to feel like their young again and play classic NES, SNES, and Game Boy Advance games can! With the Wii U's "Virtual Console," you can download classic games from your childhood and play them. Even though the WII U's Virtual Console doesn't have too many games (unlike the Wii's Virtual Console), the new Virtual Console is sure to entertain gamers that grew up with an NES, or Super Nintendo.
So, hopefully this review helps you may your decision on whether to purchase a WII U. But I just need to mention that I bought a WII U, and I certainly don't regret it.
